7/25/2021 2 Comments Food Pantry NewsSt. Michael’s food pantry has been funded by private donations as well as grants given by local nonprofit organizations. This ministry currently has a very substantial balance in the restricted funds for the pantry and the pantry has had the opportunity to not only provide meat, fresh fruit and vegetables but to also purchase much of these items at our local markets that helps support them during this difficult time.
We have had a great deal of both clothing and household items that are currently being stored in one of the classrooms off the parish hall. The Bishop's Committee has given Deacon Cathy permission to turn that classroom into a thrift store co-op to not only provide these items at low cost to our food pantry patrons but to also bring in a small amount of income to help cover for the cost of the utilities the pantry is currently using in the parish hall. This is one more ministry that St. Michael’s can provide and will hopefully make us more open and known to our community. Deacon Cathy currently has volunteers willing to set up the store and she has a volunteer willing to run the co-op. The thrift store co-op will be open 2x a month during Senior Box Day and the Food Pantry Distribution Day.

My family and I have items that we dont have use for. Dishes, glasses, mugs, some sheets, clothing, toys, kitchen gadgets. Would your new store allow us to donate these items to help?
