About Us

St. Michael's is an Incorporated Mission of The Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin in the state of California. The church has served the Indian Wells Valley at its present location since 1958.

Wherever you are in your journey with God, you are welcome here. If you have just arrived in the Indian Wells Valley or you are simply curious about us, please come to one of our services. Whether you’ve been away from church for a few months or for many years, you will be welcome. If you’ve been meaning to come to church for a while but are just getting around to finding one, come meet us and we will encourage you.

Although we are not a large group, our congregation is as dedicated as any you will find to living out the Good News of the Gospel. Loving God and our neighbor, we strive to make a positive difference in our community and in the world.

Every person who walks in the door here makes a positive difference in our worship and in the strength of our community. You matter here, and we want to meet you.

We offer you a Christian community of spiritual renewal and radical acceptance, a commitment to helping everyone grow in their spiritual journey, and a heritage deeply rooted in worship, scripture, and prayer.

What Do We Believe?

  • We believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.
  • We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.
  • We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.
